Gold Country Kiwanis leads as well as participates in many local and regional community building projects. They include:
- Kiwanis Family House maintenance and financial support in Sacramento for traveling families of patients receiving medical care at UC Davis and Shriner’s Hospitals
- Salvation Army Booth House renovation in Grass Valley
- Salvation Army Red Kettle Christmas bell ringing
- Habitat for Humanity building and landscape service in Grass Valley
- Sierra Gold Senior Center building clean up in preparation of opening in GV
- Archery target building for local Boy Scout Troop 24
- Inner Faith Food Ministry service days for needy families
- 6,000 meals assembly for local needy families assembled at IFM
- Spooky Boo children’s bookmarks and plush toy Halloween at NC Library
- Bell Hill Academy School reading tutoring and book donations
- Nevada County Convoy of Hope family festival
- Community Fitness Day celebration
- World Tai Chi demonstration and celebration
- Children’s safety carnival/fire prevention and preparedness festival
- Children’s Renaissance Festival
- Annual Nevada County Fair/Treat Street booth fundraiser
In addition to hands on community participation, Gold County Kiwanis makes annual financial donations to many non-profits for the benefit of Youth and Senior programs that are essential to our community.
These include multiple college scholarships to Key Club service club graduates from our Nevada Joint Union High School District.
